Lu Zhongyuan

Vice President (Vice Minister)

    Lu Zhongyuan, Vice President (Vice Minister) and Senior Research Fellow of Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC). Engaged in advanced studies on economics at the Oxford University, UK in 1991-1992. He had worked with the Central Party School of CPC, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Research Office of the State Council, doing teaching and research on economic theories and policies. He was appointed Deputy Director General of Industry and Trade Department and Department of Banking and Public Finance and Inspector of Industry and Trade Department under the Research Office of the State Council in 1993-2000. He became Deputy Director General of DRC’s Research Department of Development Strategy and Regional Economy and Director General of DRC’s Department of Macroeconomic Research in 2000-2007. He has been involved in the drafting of some important documents of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. He was elected as the Deputy to the Seventeenth National Congress of CPC. The current research fields include the macro economy and mid-and-long-term development in China. Some of his research achievements were awarded Sun Yefang Prize on Economic Science in 1988; Prize of Five “One” Project in 1999; the First Prize of China Development Research in 2003, and the Top Prize of China Development Research in 2005. His concurrent posts include: Executive Director of Chinese Society of Public Finance, Vice President of the Society of Public Economy, Doctorial Tutor at Beijing Normal University, Adjunct Professor at China National School of Administration and Tsinghua University.
